AirTran A+ Rewards Program Ending

Southwest Airlines has announced that the AirTran A+ Rewards program is ending. The rewards program for the combined airline will be Rapid Rewards starting on Nov. 2, 2014.

On November 2, 2014 all AirTran A+ Rewards accounts will be closed, and active A+ Rewards credits will be converted to Rapid Rewards points at a ratio of one A+ Rewards credit to 1,200 Rapid Rewards points. The last day to earn or burn A+ Rewards credits is November 1, 2014. Please keep in mind that AirTran A+ credits will not automatically convert to Southwest points, you must initiate the transfer yourself. Existing A+ Rewards Chase credit card members will begin earning Rapid Rewards points in late October.

On November 1, 2014 AirTran elite members will automatically become Southwest A-List members through December 2015. Also, any AirTran companion certificates valid on or after November 1, 2014 it will become a Southwest companion certificate valid through December 2015.
