Have Delta Skymiles? Two month reminder!
Have any summer trips planned? Want to visit South America for “summer” skiing? Europe in July is always lovely! Or how about seeing family and friends in Dubai or Tel Aviv with the kids?
Well if you have plans, and you want to use Delta Skymiles (or rather Skypesos), book your travel before June 1st! Delta first and business class award travel, what were the best mileage award options to redeem in my opinion, are all going up in price in just 2 months time. Rewards to or from the US and the following destinations are going up by:
Southern South America (Chile, Argentina, Brazil): 12,500 miles each way
Europe: 12,500 miles each way
Africa: 10,000 miles each way
Middle East: 10,000 miles each way
Northern Asia (Japan, Northern China, Korea): 10,000 miles each way
Southeast Asia (Hong Kong and points south): 10,000 miles each way
Southwest Pacific: 10,000 miles each way
South Africa: 10,000 miles each way
As someone living in Europe and traveling to the US frequently, that means that I now have to pay 25,000 extra miles for a ticket to the US! That is the cost of a round trip, domestic, coach class mileage award within the US. That is if you are lucky enough to find a route on Delta with saver award availability, which is like trying to find a needle in space (forget a haystack)!
If you have any plans to travel in 2014 to any of the above destinations, use your Delta miles in the next 2 months! I know this is old news for some, but for others, get booking (and traveling)!
