Uber Offering $15 Off When You Order A Ride From Google Maps

Uber is offering customers (new and some existing customers) $15 off a ride when they order the ride through Google Maps.  The promotion is to encourage people to use the app out of convenience.  The new system allows you to order a ride, see where your driver is, and get a status report on your ride all without going to the Uber app.

According to the release:

It’s already been easy to compare wait times and the pricing of available Uber options, including POOL, uberX, and uberXL, in Google Maps. With the latest integration update powered by Uber’s API, you can now request a ride, see your driver en route, contact your driver, and follow your trip status — all without having to switch over to the Uber app. Plus, you can pay with your options on file with either Uber or Google.

To get the promotion, just follow the directions below:

To get started, all you have to do is open the ride services tab on Google Maps and tap on “REQUEST” to take a ride. For a limited time, all new riders in the U.S. will receive $15 off their first ride.

Promotion

I should note that there has been some talk that even existing customers were getting the promotion, but I tried it on my account and that was not the case, so it may just be dependent on each person’s account.
