Etihad and Saudia Sign Codeshare Agreement

Etihad and Saudia have signed a codeshare agreement.  Saudia is the national airline of Saudi Arabia.  The two Gulf carriers have joined forces in an attempt to offer their customers more flexibility and convenience.  It will also help each airlines’ passengers using benefits on either of the two airlines’ loyalty programs.

The agreement will also allow Etihad to provide some mechanical services to Saudia’s fleet at Etihad’s maintenance facility in Abu Dhabi.

Gulf New reports that the following flights will have codeshares:

In the new codeshare agreement, Etihad Airways will place its code on Saudia’s flights to Abha, Al-Baha, Alula, Arar, Bisha, Dammam, Dawadmi, Gassim, Gizan, Gurayat, Hail, Hofuf, Jeddah, Jouf, Madinah, Qaisumah, Rafha, Riyadh, Sharurah, Tabuk, Taif, Turaif, Wadi-Ad-Dawasir, Wedjh, Yanbo, and Abu Dhabi. Codeshare flights to Port Sudan, Tunis, Alexandria, Sharm el-Sheikh, Multan and Peshawar are still subject to government approval.

Saudia will place its code on Etihad flights to Baku, Chengdu, Ahmedabad, Nagoya, Tokyo-Narita, Dammam, Jeddah, Madinah, Riyadh, Belgrade, Seychelles, Chicago-O’Hare and Abu Dhabi.

Neither of the airlines have updated their website yet to reflect the change, but we will update with more information when that information is posted on their websites.
