Perfectly located on 29th Street and Collins Avenue in Miami Beach, Florida, the AC Hotel Miami Beach is a luxurious boutique hotel that offers stunning views of the Atlantic ocean and is within walking distance of the famous Lincoln Road mall.

Don’t feel like walking? An Uber ride is usually under $5 each-way.

Winglet Rating: 8/10

The Room.

My room was a king ocean view with a balcony. However, I was in the corner room which meant I also had a city view. The room itself was gorgeous. It was upscale and properly setup. The bed was firm, but comfortable. Waking up and seeing the ocean every morning was delightful. It was an instant energizer. Who needs coffee when you have such a great view?

There is nothing better than having a nice glass of wine on the balcony while enjoying the great view. Be warned, mosquitos are a pest all over South Florida. Go buy some Off! spray. The downside of the room? The lowest the a/c can be set to is 67 degrees. The room got quite warm during the day and even sometimes during the night.

The Pool.

The pool is heated, or at least quite warm, which is great. The depth of the pool is 3.4 ft. The pool is located on the rooftop and offers a nice view of the ocean and the city as well. There are cabanas available throughout the pool as well where you can relax and unwind.

Downside to the pool: The pool towels are hardly restocked so you have to call the front desk to have them refilled every now and again. Another downside, in my opinion, is that the hotel does not have a  roof-top bar. Other than that, I really liked the pool.

The Gym.

The gym has your basic workout machines. Treadmills, bicycles, and basic arm weights. I didn’t have a chance to visit the gym (other than to take pictures) but it was mostly used in the mornings. Other than that, the gym was not used much by guests. It’s always good to have a gym available though!

The Bar.

The bar staff were very friendly and helpful. I decided to have a ‘Dear Prudence’ drink, essentially a gin and tonic, which was $11 and also a rum and coke. The prices are reasonable given how expensive drinking can be in Miami Beach.

The hotel bar has a cool little gadget, it’s like a remote control. You can use it to request a waiter/waitress, cancel the request, or ask for the check. It’s pretty legit.

The Breakfast.

Unless breakfast is included in your room rate, it is not worth paying for. Breakfast is $15/pp and is a typical light European style breakfast with fruits, quiche slices, bread and beverages. Lincoln Road has more viable options where you can get more food for your buck.

Valet Parking.

Th only available parking available at the hotel is via valet. The price is $40 overnight or $20 for day-guests. The valet attendants were friendly, attentive, and very social. When you look at other major hotels the price of $40 is not unreasonable for the Miami Beach area.

Extra Stuff.

Don’t expect a fancy lobby, the lobby at this hotel is pretty stale. That being said, if you get passed the lobby, you will find this to be a very comfortable hotel. This is a Marriott property which means you can earn MR points or airline miles. Since I don’t regularly stay with Marriott, I decided to earn

More Pictures.
