Lyft Offering Free Rides To Honor Black History Month

Lyft announced on Thursday that they’re offering free rides up to a value of $10 if you go to a black history museum.  The ride sharing company is offering the special promotion in honor of Black History Month.

  • Who?  Anybody is eligible
  • What?  A free $10 ride to select black history museums and historical sites
  • When?  The code is valid through February 28, 2019
  • Where?  The deal is good for most major cities throughout the country and Canada, including Austin, Texas; Baltimore, MD; Washington, D.C.; Seattle, Washington; Toronto, Canada; and many more.
  • How?  Use the code for your specific city, which can be found on Lyft’s website.

Lyft has the cities and locations eligible on its website.  Each city has a different discount code that you’ll have to use in order to be eligible.

In a statement in a blog post, Lyft said:

Lyft’s commitment to diversity and inclusion extends from our offices to the communities in which we serve. We believe the more we understand the diverse needs of our workforce and communities the better we are positioned to provide services, solutions, and products that make a positive impact. Leveraging diversity and inclusion also enables us to hire and retain top talent and win in a diverse marketplace.

Much has been done, much remains to be done, and Lyft is honored to step up today to do our part to continue building inclusive and more connected communities while helping provide greater opportunity for the leaders of tomorrow.

Bottom Line

This is a good way to save some money if you’re wanting to check out one of these sites and you live in the city where it’s being offered.  I personally live in D.C., so a $10 ride would be a pretty good deal and be almost free for me to visit these sites.  Let us know if you use this promotion!
