American's DealFinder App

DealFinder AppAmerican Airlines has this, somewhat, useful app that helps you find deals. The app has so far only worked for me once, but if you are planning a trip months in advance this may be especially helpful for you. I’ve personally been using this app for three months now and thought I should share it in case someone out there didn’t know about it.

The app is called DealFinder and it allows you to enter where you want to go, your origin, whether you want to fly one-way or round trip, and the maximum price you want to pay per passenger.

The app is then supposed to alert you whenever your trip goes down to the price you wanted. So far this happened to me once. I had entered a flight to Dallas, TX and put the max price per passenger to be $180. About three weeks later the app alerted me and said that there were flights available for $168 per passenger. Round trip, of course.

This app is obviously made for American frequent flyers or those who don’t care for airline loyalty and are okay with flying whoever is cheapest.

DealFinder App Features:

  • Save up to 10 customized trip searches;
  • Shows current low fares and continues to search for you;
  • Alerts you when your desired fare is available;
  • Shows news & offers for American Airlines; and
  • Compatible with Mac and Windows.

Hope you can all benefit from this ‘useful’ app!
