Delta Chooses Cats Over Humans

Delta passengers claim Delta chooses cats over humans — On a recent flight from Atlanta to Oklahoma City, Delta chose to allow a passenger with two cats to remain on board rather than allowing a man with allergies to remain.

Jackie Reckline and her family noticed that a passenger who boarded the flight before them had two cats with them as they boarded. Reckline’s husband is highly allergic to cats and can go into anaphylactic shock.

Reckline informed the flight attendants of her husband’s allergy but the airline didn’t seem to care much. Instead, Reckline and her daughter stay on board the flight and her husband had to wait until the next day to fly.

The airline provided Reckline’s husband with a new flight, a hotel, and a monetary gesture as an apology. Reckline is upset, claiming that the airline prioritiezes cats over the safety and wellbeing of human passengers.

Delta provided the following statement to 11Alive:

“The comfort and safety of every customer who flies Delta is our top priority and we work hard to ensure those with allergies are well taken care of. We have reached out directly to this customer to better understand his and his family’s experience and apologize for the inconvenience this situation may have caused.”
