Donate to the American Red Cross and earn AAdvantage miles
During the month of April, American Airlines has joined forces with the American Red Cross disaster relief organization to kick off a campaign to help promote personal preparedness and raise funds for the organization’s Annual Disaster Giving Program.
“By pledging donations in advance of a disaster, the Red Cross is ready to respond immediately when one hits. We want our employees and our customers to be Red Cross ready,” reads the a statement on American’s website.
AAdvantage members who donate can earn a one-time award of 250 AAdvantage bonus miles for a minimum $50 donation, or 500 AAdvantage bonus miles for a donation of $100 or more to the American Red Cross. Again this is a one-time award.
Additionally, you may also donate your AAdvantage miles to the cause but you will (obviously) not get any in return.
