Icelandair Travel Alert: Cancellations for June 16th & 17th

Icelandair strikesIcelandair has issued a travel alert, the alert cancels most flights on June 16th and some on June 17th due to a strike action by the Icelandair Mechanics union. Though strikes are becoming more common nowadays, mostly throughout the European Union, airlines have become good at rebooking passengers and getting them to their destination as soon as possible.

Icelandair says that it will assist affected passengers with new travel arrangements by either rebooking on available Icelandair flights or other airlines, if needed. There are two main dates affected, the 16th and the 17th of June, however, the 16th of June is the biggest day in terms of cancellations.
