muchopoints - are you maximizing your hotel points?

Earlier this year I wrote about muchopoints, which was then in BETA phase, and how you can maximize the amount of hotel points you earn by using muchopoints. Now, I’m back to inform you of all the enhancements that muchopoints has made!

muchopoints is a hotel award stay search engine that allows you to compare hotel reward rates and identify hotels that will earn you the most free nights. The search engine allows you to see how much you will earn for your entire stay and it takes into consideration any available promotions available to increase the amount of points you will earn.

In the new version the developers focused on successfully and elegantly improving the mobile end user experience. Users should now be able to gracefully navigate through all the different steps to book their preferred hotel chain right from their mobile device!

But… how does muchopoints work?

muchopoints uses an algorithm that they call ‘muchoscore’. muchoscore calculates and filters the hotels that will provide customers the most points, considering the points gain per week and the points needed to be redeemed per night on an specific hotel. muchoscore helps customers to make the best choice to maximize their points when booking hotels on their weekly trips.

muchopoints also allows users to compare multiple chains and the comparable reward rates or hotel costs side by side when they conduct a hotel search.

The best part of it all is that muchopoints lets you keep 100% of the points you earn. Once you find the hotel you want to book, muchopoints redirects you to the hotels website so you can book the hotel and earn full points. Remember that websites like Kayak, Priceline, Expedia, Hotels.com, and the like do not earn hotel points.

On the other hand, a muchoscore number is a number assigned to a hotel search result, muchopoints will show details of the points calculation.

Another great feature is the ability to filter by hotel chain. You can then see your desired hotel on a map in order to determine which location may best serve your needs. I always prefer Hilton hotels, followed by IHG, so I always filter my search.

The BEST part about muchopoints is that it is all FREE. Users are able to create an account at no cost and enjoy all the great features previously mentioned. The downside? No support for Hyatt properties at the moment.
