Where to Pack Your Medication when Flying

In the past I’ve been guilty of accidentally packing my medicine (Tylenol and heart burn medication) in my checked bag. I know, silly me. I was on a flight to Israel last November when I got really bad heartburn but had to suck it up and deal with it for the eight hours that were left on the flight because I accidentally packed my medication in my checked bag and not my backpack.

My advice is to put all your medication in a hand-bag, you can stow your hand bag under the seat in front of you for easy access during the flight. Airlines (except low-cost ones) let you bring 1 carry-on luggage and 1 carry-on handbag. The handbag can be a backpack, purse, suitcase or grocery bag. The carry-on luggage is the larger item with wheels that you need to stow in the overhead bins.

When passing through TSA you should take out your medication and put it in the tray in case they are being picky that day. I recommend placing all your medications in one Ziploc bag. Once you have done that just place it back into your carry-on handbag and once you board place it under the seat in front of you and enjoy your flight!

Hope this helps those who are curious!
