Russian Officials Release New Video of 2019 Aeroflot Crash

The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation released a video on Wednesday that shows the 2019 Aeroflot crash if a commercial airplane.  The crash occurred on May 5, 2019.  The video shows the aircraft engulfed in flames as it skidded across the runway.

The video is terrifying all around.  However, the worst part is that it shows people getting out of the plane with their luggage.  Folks, this cannot be said enough: DO NOT BRING YOUR LUGGAGE AND ITEMS WITH YOU WHEN LEAVING THE PLANE.  There is no possession in the world that is more important than people’s lives.  There are plenty of safety videos to get this message across.

A single person holding up a plane evacuation — while it is engulfed in flames no less — can literally kill people.  Think about the world around and you and focus on being a part of a speedy evacuation.

The Aeroflot flight was returning to the airport in Moscow, Russia after it was struck by lightening and suffered an electrical failure.  Upon landing, the airplane bounced and touched down hard, causing the landing gear to collapse on impact.  The impact led to fuel to spill out of the wings, which led to the plane bursting into flames.

This is not the first video released of the crash, but it gives a different angle.

The jet was a scheduled passenger flight operated by Aeroflot from Moscow to Murmask, Russia.  There were 73 passengers and 5 crew members on board.  There were 41 fatalities from the crash, including 2 children.
