Radical Islamists Are In Possession Of 11 Commercial Jets

Libyan_Airlines_Airbus_A320_ZammitThe Washington Free Beacon is reporting on the disappearance of eleven commercial jetliners after radical Islamists took over Tripoli airport in Libya last month.

The intelligence that is being distributed seems to suggest a fear that these airliners may be used in suicide airline attacks, with the possibility that some of these attacks may occur on 9/11.

Next week is the 13th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 attacks on New York City, the Pentagon, and Pennsylvania. Intelligence officials have spoken recently about the prospect of possible attacks on that anniversary.

One official was quoted as saying, “There are a number of commercial airliners in Libya that are missing. We found out on September 11 what can happen with hijacked airplanes.”

The State Department has refused to comment on the issue while a second official says that it could not be confirmed by the State Department at the moment.

According to The Washington Free Beacon:

…The officials said U.S. intelligence agencies have not confirmed the aircraft theft following the takeover of Tripoli International Airport in late August, and are attempting to locate all aircraft owned by two Libyan state-owned airline companies, as security in the country continued to deteriorate amid fighting between Islamists and anti-Islamist militias.
