Southwest Passenger Arrested Over Erratic Behavior
A Southwest passenger was arrested due to his erratic behavior on Monday night aboard a flight to Newark. According to the NY Post, the unidentified passenger wrecked havoc aboard Southwest Airlines Flight 864 from Fort Lauderdale (FLL) to Newark (EWR). The flight ultimately landed an hour late at 12:26AM on Tuesday.
According to Southwest, the erratic passenger became agitated during the final minutes of the flight to Newark. However, some passengers tweeted that a man on their flight arriving in Newark tried to exit the aircraft and attacked a flight attendant. It’s unclear whether the man was intoxicated or whether he was served one too many drinks aboard the flight. The passenger’s unusual behavior prompted the crew to call airport law enforcement officials, who stormed the plane upon the flight’s arrival and arrested the erratic passenger. According to a statement from Southwest, no passengers were injured.
The erratic passenger was later was taken to Newark Beth Israel Medical Center for a psychiatric evaluation. His name has not been released.
