UN Amb. Nikki Haley Tears Into American Airlines for Canceled Flight
Last week, Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley made news when it was announced by President Donald Trump in the Oval Office that she would be leaving her position of UN Ambassador at the end of the year. Well, today she’s making headlines by saying what we are all thinking when we have to deal with a canceled or delayed flight.
The former South Carolina Governor called out American Airlines for a flight delay and then cancelation. Ambassador Haley had to take a train instead because of the flight cancelation.
Flight delayed yesterday morning. Flight cancelled last night. We had to take the train and didn’t get in until 2:30am. It seems like flights are getting less and less reliable. Where is the accountability for the customer? #TravelNightmares @AmericanAir

In token American Airlines fashion, the airline replied on Twitter that “We’re very sorry for any inconvenience this flight cancellations caused.” We’ve all heard that before. They then asked for additional details via direct message (DM). That is probably a smart idea, since any further information in the public sector would probably draw even more attention to the fact that one of the most powerful women in the U.S. Government is making her dissatisfaction of airlines be known.
She should be lucky that AA didn’t respond with completely misunderstanding her complaint, which happened with AA’s Twitter team recently. Though delays and cancelations happen, they can be frustrating. On top of that, in my experience with AA this year, I’ve had a delay on almost every single flight I’ve taken. So, it’s no surprise that other people are dealing with the frustration of delays and cancelations.
