VIDEO: Cruise Ship Collides Into Another Cruise Ship After High Winds Rip Moorings

A cruise ship hit another cruise ship at a port in La Spezia, Italy.  The video was captured and posted on Facebook by Crucero Fun.

The Celebrity Cruises’ Celebrity Constellation was let adrift after the moorings were detached because of high winds.  The cruise crashed into another cruise ship named Costa Magica.  Three tug boats were able to leap into action and secure the ship, but not until after it collided with the docked Costa Magica.  There are no reports of injuries from the collision.

Crucero fun included in the post an update on the impacts weather in Italy has had on the port.  They said,  “Many boats are changing their paths to ports where they can stop without complications.  Five Boats that should leave yesterday from the port of Venice, are still tied, waiting for the strong winds to pass and the weather is the right one to start their itineraries.  Let’s hope everything gets better soon!”

The Facebook page also posted pictures of the damage from the collision.

Italy has been hit with bad weather that has impacted the region.  Nine people have been killed by the storms, and Venice has been struck by severe flooding.
