(VIDEO) “Made by Britain” — British Airways Celebrates Its 100th Birthday With New Ad
British Airways spent the past few days teasing #BA100, the hashtag the airline is using to commemorate its 100th birthday. The airline is turning 100 years old on August 25, 2019. In order to commemorate that, the airline was posting on Twitter about an upcoming announcement. Well, today they released a new ad titled “Made by Britain,” which appears to be the big announcement.
Here’s some of the tweets below that the airline posted to Twitter:

The ad is focused on a group of British people boarding the flight. Famous British stars are in the ad, including Anthony Joshua, Olivia Colman, Gary Oldman, Helen Sharman, and — as my personal favorite — Winnie the Pooh. The ad commemorates the people of Britain. British Airways said “Because it’s the brilliant people of Britain who make us who we are.”
The website created for the 100th birthday commemoration says “Throughout our centenary year we will be curating The BA 100. The BA 100 are the 100 makers of Modern Britain. They are the people who represent the values we want to celebrate and make Britain the creative, open-minded, pioneering and welcoming place it is today. The BA 100 represent the best of business, environment, fashion, film and entertainment, food and drink, music, art and design, philanthropy, science and technology, and sport.”
The ad is nice for sure, and it’s nice that the airline is commemorating the British people. Personally, I have never been a particular fan of British Airways. Then again, I’m not a particular fan of many airways these days. It might be nice if in honor of their 100th Birthday, better service and a better customer product returned as the main focus of the British Airways business model.
