Aer Lingus and Norwegian Get Into Epic Twitter Battle, And Its Grand
There is nothing better than watching a Twitter battle, but it’s even better when the battle is between two airlines going toe-to-toe to criticize the other. On Thursday, both Aer Lingus and Norwegian went to war on Twitter over Norwegian’s original tweet that highlighted their fare sale deal where they were offering fares from Dublin, Shannon, and Cork for 69 Euros.
First Norwegian tweeted about their new routes and fare deal:
We are excited to launch our new non-stop routes from Dublin, Shannon & Cork to the USA from €69* one way. Book at https://t.co/ceCa6N5HHI pic.twitter.com/TP7dYMz329

To which Aer Lingus replied:
No free bag?
No free seat assignment?
No free meal?
No preclearance?Cheers, you’re grand. https://t.co/aZIHqZJpJc

At that point, a customer decided to get in on the action and troll Aer Lingus:
@daighy Maybe, but have you seen where you land?

And then Norwegian just had to politely thank Aer Lingus for the free advertising:
Free advertising from @AerLingus for Norwegian’s low-cost flights? That’s grand, thanks guys!

And then in the grand finale, Aer Lingus pointed out that Norwegian’s flight takes you to Stewart airport, which is a good distrance from New York City. Aer Lingus posted the possible options to get from Stewart to New York City:

This was all a lot of fun to read and is absoutely hilarious that the two airlines were going after each other like this. Although, Aer Lingus was also responding to customers in a hilarious fashion as well. Check out when one customer decided to tell Aer Lingus to act their age:
@DavidLee8885 it’s true. We’re 81

So, that was the epic Twitter battle between Norwegian and Aer Lingus. I can’t wait for the next!
