Part of O’Hare T1 Being Evacuated
(BREAKING): Just now via Twitter, the O’Hare International Airport social media team sent out the below tweet. Apparently, it is due to an unattended bag.
If you are flying United Airlines and you are on your way to or from T1 at ORD, plan accordingly because it will probably cause traffic in the area being closed off until the situation is under control.
It’s probably nothing but I will update this tweet as more details flow in.
Update 1: Chicago Fire Department has told WGN-TV, a local news station, that a canine “sat down on a bag near a terminal door” which caused suspicion. They are calling a second canine to confirm the validity of the threat.
Update 2 (FINAL): Police have given the all-clear. It is still unclear if something dangerous was in the package but it has been removed and T1 is operational once again.
@Chicago_Police responding to incident in T1. Part of terminal evacuated. Portion of terminal roadway closed. ATS service to T1 suspended.
