Delta Passenger Calls Police Because He Was Uncomfortable Sitting Next To Queer Rapper Mykki Blanco
According to a report in the media and tweets put out by Mykki Blanco, the passenger called police on a Delta Air Lines flight from Toronto to Detroit. So, the police arrived on the scene once the plane arrived and it seems like they were giving a hard time to Blanco, despite the fact there doesn’t seem to be any reason the passenger called outside of his own discomfort. Is it possible that there is more to this story that just isn’t being reported? Absolutely! However, I think something happened hear that calls for some kind of response as to under what claim the police officer threatened to jail Blanco.
Here are the series of tweets from the rapper:
I just took a flight from Toronto to Detroit Michigan and when I woke up the gentlemen sitting next to me had the policed called

He said that he was not comfortable and did not know how @Delta allowed “someone like me” to board the plane with him and sit next to him

This is REAL @Delta. Then I was told by a police officer that an FBI report would be made from our “interaction”, except I did not interact

I was told I would “go to jail” if I continued to ask questions about why this police officer was giving preferential treatment to this man

I was then told I could file a report myself and give “my side of the story”.. but the entire incident itself is fabricated

This is the most bizarre form of homophobia I have ever encountered

This was Delta’s response:
@MykkiBlanco Hi Mykki, I honestly can’t believe what my eyes are reading. I am so very sorry to hear that you had to experience… 1/4

This is another example of the kind of seatmate you don’t want to be on a flight! Even if there was something that happened that actually made him legitmately uncomfortable, the thing to do is inform the flight attendant, see about a different seating option, etc. However, the notion that you call the police because he couldn’t understand why Delta would let people like Blanco fly on their airline, seems like he might just be ridiculous person.
