Lounge Review: Chesapeake Club Lounge at BWI Airport

The Chesapeake Club Lounge at BWI Airport is operated by a third party on behalf of British Airways. The lounge is smaller than the oneworld lounge at Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD), but still quite convenient for all other purposes.

The lounge is open to passengers flying in Club World, First Class, or those who are oneworld frequent flyers with Sapphire or Emerald elite status.

The lounge has the following amenities:

• Free WiFi;
• Bathrooms (duh! But no showers);
• Snack bar;
• Beverage bar (beer, wine, champagne, and liquor);
• Conference room (must be reserved);
• Reservations assistance; and
• Television screens with ample seating.

Again, don’t expect a grand lounge. I was more than happy with it considering the fact that it is free entrance due to my oneworld Emerald status.

The lighting was easy on the eyes and the lounge itself was quite clean. The bathroom is at the far end of the lounge to the left of the snack and beverage bar and it is quite small. Again, keep in mind that there are no showers.

Don’t expect a meal at this lounge either, it only offers snacks like snack vegetables, small cut sandwiches, soup, chips, and other sweets. It is a self-service airport lounge, so don’t necessarily expect someone to come up to you and ask you if you would like something to drink or eat. Outside food is NOT permitted, which is a normal policy at airport lounges.

While I was at the lounge it was a bit loud, not sure if this is the normal atmosphere but just expect it to be somewhat loud.
