The classic American Airlines chocolate chip cookie is back!

The classic American Airlines chocolate chip cookie is back!

AAdvantage Executive Platinum elites Bryan Cook, Danny Garcia, and numerous other American Airlines frequent flyers are reporting that the classic chocolate chip cookie that was replaced in September of last year has made a comeback following months of complaints between September and December of 2014 by dissatisfied first class passengers.

As members of the American Airlines Executive Platinum Fliers have discussed, there have been three versions of the chocolate chip cookie since the change in September. The latest version matches the classic chocolate chip that most American flyers love and enjoy.

The classic cookie (and the comeback cookie) are baked on board during the flight from cookie dough while the replacement versions were simply reheated on the plane and tasted…differently…to say the least.

So there you go, good news for those, like me, who love the American Airlines chocolate chip cookie! Have you had the new comeback cookie yet?

UPDATE (1/19/15): After questioning flight attendants, I can confirm that the cookie is not the same old chocolate chip cookie as before. It is not baked on board but it is a new recipe. The cookie tastes and smells the same but it is not the same.
