Reminder: Earn less Avios with British Airways as of April 28th!

Since I’m currently highly annoyed at British Airways for removing my Avios from my account, I want to remind everyone of the changes to the Executive Club programme that will be effective as of April 28, 2015.

As of April 28th, British Airways will be adjusting the Avios earned when you fly aboard British Airways so that the number of Avios you earn will be based on the fare class as well as the cabin you fly in. In other words, if you book and fly on low/discounted economy flights you will earn less Avios than before.

Silver elite member will also earn less Avios tier bonuses as of April 28th:

So in sum, British Airways is making it harder to earn Avios if you fly in coach. However, you would still earn more avios/miles/points than if you were to choose Delta or United.
