Two Qantas Planes Collide in LAX
A Qantas A380 plane collided with one of its B747 in LAX at 9pm PST on Thursday. Qantas is the flag carrier of Australia and a member of the oneworld alliance. The airline said that the planes were being towed out of their hangers and due to the tight space at the LAX airport because of ongoing construction, the two planes collided and hindered them unable to fly until repaired.
Qantas cancelled the two affected flights and booked the passengers into hotels for the night and got them to their final destination on Friday. This incident comes hours after Qantas announced it will be cutting 5,000 jobs and retiring planes that use more fuel than modern planes.
